Congratulations Mrs. Nelson & Mrs. KillingsworthMS Council

The Jackson County School Board recognized two East Central Lower Elementary staff members at the September meeting for their selection as members of a newly developed state teacher council. Mrs. Victoria Killingsworth, 1st Grade teacher, and Mrs. Angela Nelson, 2nd Grade teacher, were chosen as members of the inaugural Mississippi Teacher Council, instituted this year by Dr. Carey Wright, State Superintendent. The council is comprised of teachers  who were chosen to represent their area of the state in a forum between state leaders and the top professionals from Mississippi classrooms. This is the first council of this kind that includes engagement and feedback between state leadership and those who deliver the instruction on a daily basis to the children of Mississippi on educational topics of concern. It is an honor for ECLE to have two members on this council. Congratulations to these two ladies; we know they will represent our school, our district, and the coastal region well.
