At East Central Lower Elementary, our primary objective is to teach and help students achieve purposeful, effective learning in an innovative, traditional environment where students can excel in both academics and personal, social development. We will provide education for children now and prepare them for the 21st century. Our vision is to never diminish the wonder of a child, yet give the child structure, orderliness, and security that comes from knowing what is expected.
At East Central Lower Elementary, a major emphasis is placed on the development of students as critical thinkers and problem solvers. Students are encouraged to go beyond traditional requirements to pursue and extend their learning. We also believe that students need to work cooperatively and show concern and respect for others. Our curriculum emphasizes creating open-minded, empathetic human beings. The mission of our district is to provide a safe, nurturing environment conducive to quality education where all students have the opportunity to obtain the essential skills necessary to achieve the goals of their choice and to become responsible, productive citizens.
The vision of our school is to empower students to become creative problem solvers, confident decision makers, effective communicators, and responsible citizens who are culturally aware, technologically literate, and who value themselves and the diversity of all people.
