The Jackson County Board of Education met in Interim Session on Monday, January 30, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. at the Jackson County Board of Education Building, 12210 Colonel Vickrey Road, Vancleave, Ms 39565

APPROVE MSBA E-POLICY SERVICE BASIC LEVEL, $1,500 , DISCUSSION: Motion by Turner, second by Dickerson to approve the MSBA E-Policy Service Basic Level for $1,500, as shown on page 26-D, with the following vote taken:

NEW POLICY PRESENTED FOR REVIEW: GFAAA, JOB DESCRIPTION DIRECTOR OF SAFETY AND CONSTRUCTION: (No Action Taken) Presented for boards review, as shown on page 26-E Mr. Dickerson asked whether or not this new position would be expected to save the costs of the new position. Mr. Robinson responded by saying he did not think it would. He did expect a reduction in the number of safety incident reports and an overall safer environment.

SIXTEENTH SECTION:

JACK PICKETT / UPDATE ON BECK PROPERTY: Mr. Jack Pickett stated he has mailed a certified letter to the owner of the Beck's home on sixteenth section property. As of this date he has not received the certified card signed by the addressee. Mr. Pickett stated we will be able to do what we need to because the property is now personal property because the lease has been cancelled. By the February 13, 2006 board meeting we should be able to move forward in regards to other interest in the property being persued.

JACK PICKETT / TITLE SEARCH FOR ST. MARTIN PROPERTY: Mr. Jack Pickett completed the title search opinion on the St. Martin property consisting of 50 acres on LeMoyne Blvd. There are a total of 4 parcels and there were no problems with any of the parcels.

Motion by Turner, second by Sims to accept Mr. Jack Pickett's findings of the St. Martin property title search, as shown on page 26-G, with the following vote taken:

APPROVE REAPPRAISAL ADJUSTMENTS FOR NEW LEASE AGREEMENT- LOUIS AND DEBBIE RICHARDS: Motion by Tootle, second by Sims to approve the new lease agreement for 5%, totaling $4,312.50 as shown on page 26-H, with the following vote taken:

INSURANCE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (NO ACTION TAKEN): Representatives from Steward Sneed Hewes Insurance Company were present to discuss and answer any questions the school board had regarding our insurance policies. Charles Persons, Robert Taylor and Shorty Sneed were present for discussion. The representatives were requested to attend each board meeting and give an update and they agreed to do so.

RESTART APPLICATION GRANT APPROVAL, $6,865,052.03 (NO ACTION TAKEN): Presented for board review, as shown on page 26-I

DISPLACED STUDENT APPLICATION (NO ACTION TAKEN): Presented for board review, as shown on page 26-J

STUDIO SOUTH / DAVID HARDY / LEONARD COLLINS: The St. Martin East Elementary and St. Martin North Elementary Cafeterias should be ready to serve meals possibly by late March. The Vancleave Middle School Gymnasium is set for August 12, 2006 completion.

FUTURE BUILDING PLANS / KATRINA / UPDATE: Rucks Robinson presented a completed project worksheet from FEMA authorizing additional expenditures for the St. Martin Upper and St. Martin Middle School canopies. He also reported that he filed an appeal with FEMA regarding the St. Martin Upper Elementary Gymnasium. Documentation by Studio South was attached for review by the board as shown on page 26-K
