The Jackson County Board of Education met in Regular Session on Thursday, January 12, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. at the Jackson County Board of Education Building, 12210 Colonel Vickrey Road, Vancleave, Ms 39565

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by chairman, Kenneth A. Fountain. Board member Tootle gave the invocation and Board member Turner led the Pledge of Allegiance

RANDY PIERCE - SWEARING IN - DAVID A. SIMS AND GLENN A. DICKERSON: Judge Randy Pierce was present to swear in David A. Sims, reelected in November 2005 and Glenn Dickerson, who was elected in November 2005, both for six year terms, on the Jackson County Board of Education.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS - 2006:

Motion by Turner, second by Sims to nominate Kenneth A. Fountain as Chairman. The vote was made by acclamation and was unaminous 5-0 to elect Mr. Fountain as Chairman, with the following vote taken:

The Jackson County Board of Education has determined the damaged St. Martin buildings unsafe and the environment is not good. Motion by Turner, second by Sims, as a result of the unsafe conditions, only Dr. Barry Amacker and/or Rucks H. Robinson can authorize someone to enter the buildings, with the following vote taken:
