JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION MINUTES

Special Session
Friday, August 29, 2008

The Jackson County Board of Education met in Special Session on Friday, August 29, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. at the St. Martin High School Blue Building Library, 10800 Yellowjacket Blvd., Ocean Springs, MS 39564

The following members were present:

Kenneth A. Fountain Chairman  
Randal B. Turner Vice Chairman

Barry Amacker Superintendent  

The following visitors were present:

The meeting was called to order at 5:12 p.m. by Chairman Kenneth A. Fountain.

APPROVE AGENDA: Motion by Board Member Turner, second by Board Member Sims, to approve the agenda, with the following vote taken:

The purpose of the Special Meeting was to approve an emergency resolution to authorize Dr. Barry Amacker to implement the Emergency Accountability Plan for Local Governments as a precautionary measure due to the imminent threat of Hurricane Gustav. The Resolution was presented and approved, with the following vote taken:

There being no further business to come before the board at this time, a motion was made by Board Member Turner, second by Board Member Sims, the meeting was adjourned at 5:20 p.m., with the following vote taken:
