The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by chairman, Kenneth A. Fountain. Board member Tootle gave the invocation.

As a special tribute to the Board in their honor for School Board Recognition Week, St. Martin JROTC Ladies Color Guard presented the colors and led the Pledge of Alligiance.

SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION: Presentations were made to the Board by representatives of East Central, St. Martin, Vancleave, and the Central Office in recognition of their leadership, achievements, character, and service to children of Jackson County.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS AND CELEBRATIONS: The following individuals, teams, or groups were recognized by administrators for recent achievements and accomplishments and were acknowledged by the Board, as shown on page 70-A.

CURRICULUM PRESENTATION - EAST CENTRAL: Choral Instructor, Debra Vernon along with East Central Middle School choral group performed several songs for the Board and visitors enjoyment as part of the School Board Recognition Week presentation.

DISTRICT SAFETY: Jim Lucas presented the Incident and Investigation reports for board review, as shown on page 70-B.

PROPOSED SCHOOL CALENDAR 2005-2006- Motion by Turner, second by Owenby to approve 2005-2006 School Calendar Option # 2 as presented, as shown on page 70-C, with the following vote taken:
