The Jackson County Board of Education met in Regular Session on Monday, December 13, 2004, at 5:00 p.m. at East Central High School Library, 21700 Slider Road, Moss Point, Mississippi.

The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by chairman, Kenneth A. Fountain. Board member Turner gave the invocation, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by board member Tootle.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS AND CELEBRATIONS: The following individuals, teams, or groups were recognized by administrators for recent achievements and accomplishments and were acknowledged by the Board, as shown on page 27-A.

DISTRICT SAFETY: Jim Lucas presented the Incident and Investigation reports for board review, as shown on page 27-B.

CURRICULUM PRESENTATION - EAST CENTRAL LOWER ELEMENTARY: Ms. Malcolm's second grade class performed Christmas Carols for the board members and visitors.

DR. LISA MCCARTNEY, ELEMENTARY CURICULUM DIRECTOR: Dr. Lisa McCartney, Director of Elementary Curriculum, presented a four year analysis of test scores for the JCSD. An overview of the test scores and cumulative data from 2001-2004 relative to the MCT, MS Writing Assessment, and the SATP was presented through a power point presentation as shown on page 27-C. A question and answer session followed the presentation.

STUDIO SOUTH ARCHITECT - DAVID HARDY AND BRADFORD JONES:

SCHEDULE OF BIDS AND COMPLETION DATES - Architect David Hardy presented to the Board the schedule of bids which will be advertised mid January and to begin construction in March at Vancleave Lower Elementary with completion being August. It was the boards recommendation to meet with Rucks Robinson, Lark Christian, and Loretta Goff to discuss a date of completion for the Cafeteria's. The Vancleave Gymnasiam project completion date is around March 2006.

AIR-CONDITIONING - Motion by Turner, second by Sims to accept and use Mitubishi wallmounts specifications for the air-conditioning at the schools and at the next board meeting bring needed information with the following vote taken:
