St. Martin North Elementary
Title I Parental Involvement

Activities and procedures at St. Martin North Elementary
to increase parental involvement are a vital, integral part of the Title I
program.
To accomplish this goal, the school will:

1. Convene a school wide annual meeting of the parents to:

a. Discuss the activities and programs available through Title I funding with the parents.

b. Discuss the Title I expenditures of the previous year.

c. Inform parents of their right to consult in the design and implementation of the Title I program.

d. Solicit parental input through a Needs Assessment.

e. Continue to maintain communication mechanisms among parents, teachers, and administrators.

2. Make copies of this policy available to parents of all students.

3. Provide opportunities for regular parent meetings.

4. Actively solicit parental input in the planning, design, and implementation of the Title I program.

5. Support the training of parents to work with their children in the home and to participate in activities which build good home and school partnerships.

6. Assess

7. Coordinate Title I parental involvement with programs such as Head Start, state-run preschool programs, and other programs for early intervention.

8. Present Student/Parent/Teacher Compacts to be signed by all students, parents, and teachers at the time students are registered at St. Martin North.

9. Assess annually the effectiveness of the St. Martin North Parental Involvement Policy in improving academic quality of our school and to determine if modifications are needed to increase parental participation.
