AP STUDIO 2-D ART

This assignment is due on August 5th, the first day of school. 

 

There are two components:

 

Sketchbook assignment

        —200 gesture drawings of common objects.           Objects such as kitchen items, shoes, vessels,          bottles, chairs,   and plants just to name a few.

         —The sketchbook can be any size, but make          sure you draw large (fill up   the page for most          items)

 

Artworks

Select four of the following assignment topics.  The artwork can be done on either 11x14 or 8x10 paper or canvas. Each artwork can be done in any of the following mediums:  pencil, color pencil, ink, papers (tissue, construction or magazine), paints (acrylic, watercolor or pastels) and/or photography.

 

        A. Still life of at least three shoes.

 

         B. Close up of a bicycle at an unusual angle.

 

         C. Landscape that creates a mood or feeling          (the mood/feeling can be achieved through the          color scheme).

 

         D. Self-portrait through a reflection other than          a mirror.

 

         E. Action Portrait portraying physical          movement.

 

         F. Architecture drawing of your   favorite

building, church, or house.
