THE BUZZ AROUND CAMPUS

LAST YEAR’S AP US HISTORY STUDENTS

SENIORS! anyone who was in AP US history last year can come by Mrs. Hawkins room 408 and order their graduation cords; now until Feb. 16th. The price is $8.50.

JOIN STUDENT COUNCIL

Are you someone who would like to be a leader for your school? Then you should join the student council! You can earn your way onto the council without the stress of running for office. Come to one of the information meetings in Mrs. Jellum's room at 7:50 or at break on Friday, February 10 to find out more!

CLASS RING ORDERS

The class ring representative will be here on February 15 and 16 during lunches to take orders for class rings. A deposit of $80 is needed to place an order. Class t-shirts and hoodies will be available for purchase as well.

SOPHOMORE CLASS SHIRTS

If you would like to buy a sophomore class shirt, please see Alex Simer or Angela Vo for an order form. Shirt sleeve shirts are $13 and long sleeve shirts are $16. All forms and money should be turned in to Mrs. Harris in Room 100 ASAP.

STUDENT COUNCIL RAFFLE

Have you heard about the GREAT raffles the student council is having? The entertainment and beauty raffles are valued at $237 each, and the energy raffle is valued at $120! There are some really exciting prizes in each of the raffles, and the tickets are only $1.00! See any student council member or Mrs. Jellum for your chance to win or to find out what is included in each raffle. Look for the posters around school to see pictures and detailed lists of what is in each raffle.

MARDI GRAS T-SHIRTS

The girl soccer team is selling Mardi Gras T-shirts if you buy one you will be able to wear jeans and the Mardi Gras shirt February 17th. If you would like to buy a shirt please see any of the girl soccer players or Mrs. Simpson. Short sleeve is $15.00 and the long sleeves are $18.00. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ORDER.

VALENTINE TREATS

Do you have a sweetie and no idea what to give them for Valentine's Day? Maybe you secretly admire a student at SMHS and would like to send a special treat to let them know someone is thinking of them! The Spanish Club is selling roses and gourmet lollipops for delivery on Valentine's Day. Please pre-order from a Spanish Club member or Senora Scott in room 407.

FITNESS WALK

The St. Martin High School Fitness Walk is almost here! It will be held March 10th – registration is at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration forms, shirt orders, and any donations must be turned in to Mr. Humphreys in Room 108 by Friday, March 2 in order to get a Fitness Walk t-shirt. Students and adults must have at least $20 in donations in order to receive a t-shirt. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society’s 2012 Relay for Life.

TEENS FOR JEANS
AT AEROPASTLE

Donate good condition jeans (with no holes).
For every pair donated receive 25% off your next pair of jeans purchased. These jeans go to homeless teens in need. Jeans can be given to Mrs. Bodin at the lobby desk to receive your coupon. For any further information or questions contact Jacqueline Nguyen.

FBLA

Any FBLA members interested in attending State Competition in April need to meet with Mrs. Ford after school next Thursday to get more details.

SPANISH CLUB MEETING

The next Spanish Club meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at break in the cafeteria.

FAST PITCH SOFTBALL CLINIC

The St. Martin Fast Pitch team will be hosting an All Skills Clinic on February 18th at the Lady Jackets' softball field. Registration forms are in the office. Any young lady from the ages of 5-18 can attend.

MISSISSIPPI SCHOLAR
HOURS FOR SENIORS

Documentation of Mississippi Scholars hours (20) is due by March 30, 2012. Please turn in to Mrs. Harris is room 100.

BULLDOG DAY

The BULLDOG DAY link is up, go to the MGCCC website to sign up (it is scrolling across the top or click on "future students"). Bulldog Day is March 6 and counts as a College Day.
