Our School Counselor:
Here To Lend a Helping Hand
There are many professionals making special contributions at our school. One of these professionals is our school counselor.
Our counselor is involved in a variety of programs which assist students. Her most important responsibility is to counsel students when there is a problem.
Our counselor has been trained to deal with a variety of problems relating to young people. These problems can range from getting poor grades in school to social problems. When a problem arises, the counselor meets with students, parents, teachers, and/or administrators to determine a plan of action to deal with the situation.
Our school counselor is involved in the total school program. She helps implement the school-wide testing program and the drug abuse prevention program. She is active in developing programs to build positive self-esteem in our students.
Attendance at workshops, meetings, and university classes helps the counselor to keep up to date on all the new trends and research related to the counseling field. Learning is an on-going process for our school counselor.
Our school Counselor, Sherie Tanner plays an important role in the success of our school. She is an educator, listener, helper, and friend. Mrs. Tanner does make a difference on our campus.
