The library media center at East Central High School houses over 7,600 books and approximately 1,200 pieces of audiovisual items and equipment.  The library has 31 computers available for independent and class-based research; all are Internet accessible.  Students patronizing the library media center have access to 26 different magazines and newspapers, as well as to MAGNOLIA, a state-funded database of magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, and miscellaneous research sources.  Students and parents can view the school’s collection and item availability by choosing “Destiny” below or via the district’s webpage.  The completely automated center is managed by a full-time media specialist and a student assistant.
